Scholarships are available to residents of the Metropolitan Detroit area who meet one or more of the following criteria:

Youth Program (Ages 8–17)

Applicants must:

• Be between 8 and 17 years of age.
• Have parent or legal guardian approval.
• Demonstrate an interest in learning technology skills.
• Commit to attending scheduled classes.
• Live in an economically disadvantaged community or demonstrate financial need.

Adult Program (18-55)

Applicants must:

• Demonstrate financial need or other barriers to accessing technology education.
• Commit to completing the selected course.
• Be seeking technology skills for employment, career advancement, entrepreneurship, education, or personal development.

Senior Citizen Program

Applicants should:

• Be age 55 or older.
• Demonstrate an interest in improving digital literacy.
• Commit to attending classes regularly.
• Demonstrate financial need when requesting scholarship assistance.

Scholarship Selection Criteria

Applications are reviewed using a holistic approach. Consideration may include:

• Financial need
• Interest in technology learning
• Commitment to complete the course
• Educational or career goals
• Community involvement
• Availability of scholarship funding

Academic grades are **not** the primary determining factor.

Scholarship Benefits

Depending upon available funding, scholarships may include:

• Full or partial tuition assistance
• Required software licenses
• Laptop computer or other required equipment (based on availability) *
• Learning materials
• Resources for obtaining affordable internet service
• Academic support

Scholarship awards vary based on available funding and individual need.

Required Application Materials

Applicants must submit:

• Completed Scholarship Application
• Brief Personal Statement (250–500 words)

1. Why do you want to take this course?
2. How will technology training help you or your family?
3. What are your educational or career goals?
4. Why are you requesting scholarship assistance?

*Computer equipment is on loan until course completion. ONLY on completion of the course will students be able to keep the equipment. If a participant does not complete their course, all computer equipment and course materials must be returned.

For applicants under age 18:

Parent/Guardian Consent Form

Letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, pastor, or community leader.

Scholarship Recipient Responsibilities

Recipients agree to:

• Attend classes regularly.
• Actively participate respectfully in all learning activities.
• Complete assignments to the best of their ability.
• Notify Artis Tech & More if circumstances prevent continued participation or attendance.

Failure to meet attendance or participation expectations may affect scholarship eligibility.

Selection Process

Scholarship applications are reviewed by the Artis Tech & More Scholarship Committee.

Selection is based upon:

• Eligibility requirements
• Financial need
• Program availability
• Funding availability
• Applicant commitment

Applicants will be notified of scholarship decisions before the beginning of each semester.
